Easter Bunny 2009

She loved this bunny! She threw a fit when I took her off his lap and she got to spend more time with the bunny than anyone else. I could hardly believe it. We really had a lot of fun though because 3 of my girlfriends and their kids joined us to go see the Easter Bunny.

This is the second year Millie has met the EB and I think it will be a tradition. Last year she was just 5 days old.

Curtis's 7th Birthday Party and the obsession with prickly pine cones

Millie has been quite the party animal this month as we have several family birthdays in March. Curtis turns 7 tomorrow and had a party on Friday to celebrate. Leigh did a fantastic job on the Lego pit where a couple of adult and kid-friendly Lego competitions took place. A Lego wall bordered the pit and occupied Millie greatly as she strolled back and forth on the wall throwing the Legos from the wall. She didn't even notice all the action she was missing inside the pit.

Today, Sunday, has been a beautiful Spring day. We have spent lots of it outside. We have a pine tree in the backyard so Millie has been especially entertained by all the pine cones. She even took one with her inside to take a nap. I don't know how she picks those things up and holds them so tightly. They are so prickly and hurt my hands. It kind of reminds me of being able to run around barefoot as a kid and now I can barely do it without walking very very slowly. As you can tell by the funny photo with Matt, it was a windy day!

Peanut Butter and Cheerios

So this morning as I write we're sitting down eating our normal oatmeal for breakfast. For added calories, I've seasoned Millie's oatmeal with peanut butter. Usually she eats it with fruit and brown sugar because we share. Apparently she doesn't like peanut butter in her oatmeal so we've now resorted to multigrain cheerios to start our morning. She's shoveling those in with fistfuls! Every minute or so she'll run out and I ask if she wants more. Oh man, she has got me laughing so hard because on top of nodding her head yes, she's yelling " yeayeayeayeayeayea." Just another hilarious moment.

First Ultrasound of Baby #2

I'm measuring at exactly 13 weeks and 4 days today. The due date is still Sept 20. This baby started out on his/her head for the ultrasound tech to take a picture and then tumbled on its back. His/her heart rate was again 150 bpm. Matt and I got to see all the fingers and toes and you can definitely pick out the spinal cord in the headstand photo. The mass in its head (in the side profile photos) is the brain, go figure. The technician told us 85% chance it's a boy because we did see something consistently between its legs in almost every other shot, but she wasn't for certain so I'm not going to go out and buy blue just yet. We'll see more of the rest of its parts (a obvious boy or girl determination) in about 7 more weeks right in time for my 30th birthday!
