It's no surprise that our little Pisces loves the pool...

A Morning of Water-skiing

Some awesome friends of ours live in Carolina Lakes, a lakefront community about 20 minutes North of us. This is the day that the Lord has made... for ME! It was a fabulous morning of water-skiing and Millie's first boat ride. She loved every minute. I can't wait to get that girl in some water skis! Here are lots of photos of our morning. I'll be posting video of Matt and me skiing this evening.

My Invention at Work

Apparently my original idea of creating a sippy top contraption to cap on top of a water bottle wasn't so original. Months ago, I had this "ah-ha" moment after taking a plane ride with Millie and all she would drink out of was my water bottle but what a mess it made! I had been so excited about making something useful for moms and dads to take with them anywhere without having to worry about whether or not they had a sippy cup with them for their little one(s). Ready to get a patent, I searched everywhere to see if my invention had been done before. At first I could not find anything similar. Lucky me! I was going to be rich! Unfortunately, my dreams quickly diminished shortly thereafter when my invention was spotted on onestepahead.com (most known for their new just-for-moms items that can't be found in the stores), and just this weekend during a trip to BRU, there they were in the feeding aisle staring me straight in the face! We snagged a pack and brought them home for a test run. Yeah, they work and they're perfect... so what. Just kidding, I'm a little envious that I didn't cash in on my idea sooner!

Millie is 14 months old!

Millie's turned 14 months old yesterday! This month she learned how to stand herself up without assistance, walk better, run (see the video of her running down the hill in our front yard) and talk. Millie is certainly a toddler now. My little baby is long gone. Because she's all over the place and my belly is ever-growing, we are finally installing a fence in the backyard. I can't continue to chase her everywhere and worry about her running into the road within seconds. Matt and I are teaching her to stop and go when she's walking outside. She's just about got it down and is obeying us well. I'm looking forward to using the command- Stop- when in parking lots or public places and think it will be a lifesaver.

She learned "snack" and "look" over the weekend. You can tell she's trying so hard to say other words because she'll make an attempt at mimicking whatever you say. Oh and she's drinking her milk now but still working on the quantity.

She's obsessed about putting things back where they go. If she's sees something on the floor, she'll typically pick it up and put it on the coffee table. Her favorite hiding spot for her toys, shoes, and socks is the trash can whether it be in the diaper genie or our big kitchen trash. We are already missing some puzzle pieces and I have a feeling they are long gone in a trash bag somewhere. Matt lost his military ID the other day. He said Millie was playing with it the last time he saw it so who knew where it could have ended up. We looked everywhere, under and in the furniture, her room and all of her other play spots. We even went through the nasty trash! Almost 24 hours later Matt found it in one of her toy baskets. Of course! She must have put it in there when we were cleaning up her toys before bed.

Millie has always had a few stuffed animals in her crib to help comfort her in the off-chance she woke up in the middle of the night or something. Along with the a water cup, Millie's started holding onto a book or a toy when we put her to bed. The staple book these days are her "Love You Forever" book. She likes to flip through the pages just before she falls asleep.

Her top four middle teeth are almost out. They are peeking through the gum line and will make their appearance within the next week, I hope.

And, finally we'll leave you with some photos from her friend Carli's birthday party last Friday. I think we may have to invest in an outdoor jungle gym for her once the fence goes up.

Millie first sleepover at the Grandparents'

...and our first weekend getaway without Millie!

What a great weekend! We dropped Millie off in Columbia at the grandparents' house on Saturday afternoon, and then Matt and I headed to Kiawah Island to attend the Summers' Wedding. Let me just say that it felt so nice to not have to work around naptime and bedtime. We thoroughly enjoyed our one-on-one time together- peaceful drives, no schedule to work around, an enjoyable lunch talking about baby boy names and grown up stuff, a late night partying it up at the beautiful wedding, and sleeping in until 7:45am! WOW! I don't know why we didn't do this sooner but apparently Matt's parents and sister want her back over so we'll be definitely taking advantage! Thanks again Mia, Granddaddy, Aunt Katie and Kevin for entertaining our little one!

Baby Boy Ultrasound Photos

This one is my favorite of him sucking his thumb...

This one is to prove that indeed he is a boy but will indeed one and only time anyone gets to see his boy parts posted :) ...

And, this one, is a picture of his abdomen and face which is disappointedly somewhat fuzzy...
These were taken at 20 weeks, 5 days.
