Week 24 and Growing

Her name is Amelia, Millie for short. Her heartrate beats at 144 bpm. She's growing every day and on track for a healthy development. She's going to be a kungfu fighter with all the kick practice she's getting. She likes it when I eat sweets so she can go buck-wild in my belly!

We're having a... GIRL!

Surprise, surprise! "Little thumper" is a girl! We found out on Nov 7. I took the entire day off for the dr visit and a little pampering. She was very cooperative during the ultrasound which made her sex very obvious. We were able to see her heart and all the rest of her body. My favorite part was when she looked straight at the camera. She is just so beautiful! It took Matt a minute or two to believe it was a girl but he finally came around. We have the entire thing on video so we'll never forget. After the dr's visit, I headed down to the baby store and started looking around at all the pink! This little one is going to be fun to shop for! We finished the evening at First Wednesday night praising to God that our baby girl is healthy. God is good!
By the way, Matt was able to feel her moving too. Its best felt just before I get out of bed and before I eat anything in the morning. Its pretty dang neato!

Enjoy the ultrasound pics of our little girl!

My belly shot: week 18

News Break: Our baby is growing. And, man, can I feel it. I'm 10 lbs heavier and no longer a fan of button jeans. Here's a picture to compare with week 14. I think I'll be taking more photos now as I feel like my belly is growing every day! They say I'll be feeling punches and kicks soon. Stay tuned...

Gas or Baby?

Everyone's asking if I can feel our little peanut kicking around inside me. At times I think I can feel him and then gas quickly follows. I'm excited about being able to feel him within the next few weeks! I'll of course post it when it happens.

Last week I had my 3rd doctor's appointment. This time the baby's heartbeat was 144. Not too sure what the ol' wives tale means now. Slower heartbeat- maybe the sex changed? I don't think so.

My next appointment is November 7 and that's when we'll find out if our little peanut is a boy or a girl! I am on edge and can't wait until 11/7. How will we tell our family? friends? I'm thinking about customizing some blue and pink M & M's to surprise everyone. hmm... or maybe I won't be able to hold it in-- I may just blurt it out!

I don't see it

Here are some photos, courtesy of my friend Molly, at Weeks 10 (red shirt) and 14 (pink shirt). I don't think I really don't look much different other than a little more fuller in my belly. I'm excited to see what the rest of the 2nd trimester brings.

2nd Prenatal Doctors Visit

Today was a most fabulous day! Matt and I visited the dr together. We got to hear lil' peanut's heartbeat loud and clear! Strong at 156 bpm. According to an old wives' tale, that means its a girl. Only time will tell...

Our little blessing makes its first appearance

Yippee! Hooray for peace of mind. Today, I had my first prenatal appointment. My doctor did an ultrasound. I got to see the flicker of a heartbeat. Yes, this little being inside is alive and growing. Please welcome Peanut Morris...

Can't control them even from the womb

This baby is such a blessing but I have to say I'm still worried. I have really not felt any different since we found out we were prego. I was happy to know so soon that we were expecting but man, does that take a ton of patience. Today I am at the end of my 6 weeks, I think. I read 3 out of 4 women will experience morning sickness within weeks 6 and 8. That time is here and I pray, reluctantly, that I will get sick. Believe it or not, I need it to sustain my sanity. Then I'll know my body is in good shape and our baby is growing. All it takes is time...

New Discovery

Finding out your pregnant isn't as glamourous as in the storybooks. I took the pregnancy test 5 days early and the result was positive almost immediately. I really was not prepared to see the word "PREGNANT" appear on the tiny screen. I yelled, literally, for Matt thinking surely he can clear this up for me. I was truly in shock! Matt was clueless that I was even taking the test, so when he came in I just handed it to him saying, "does that say what I think it says?" Calmly he responds, "yes." Shortly thereafter, all range of emotions pass through my mind. First shock, then denial, then confusion, then excitement (after reading the directions thoroughly front and back, twice), Now I'm just scared and worried. I'm sure I'll feel more content once I see my doctor. Same goes for Matt as all of this is new to the both of us.
